Arc @ UNSW Limited - Student Representative Council

Student Representative Council

The SRC is a student body housed within Arc and the peak body for the representation of student issues at UNSW. It runs Collectives for student groups and organises activities and campaigns.

The UNSW Law Revue Society's 2008 submission to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations criticised the Representative Council for having "wasted students’ time & money focusing on internal structuring issues; rather than truly lobbying for better student rights".

Famous quotes containing the words student and/or council:

Those things for which the most money is demanded are never the things which the student most wants. Tuition, for instance, is an important item in the term bill, while for the far more valuable education which he gets by associating with the most cultivated of his contemporaries no charge is made.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Daughter to that good Earl, once President
Of England’s Council and her Treasury,
Who lived in both, unstain’d with gold or fee,
And left them both, more in himself content.

Till the sad breaking of that Parliament
Broke him, as that dishonest victory
    At Chaeronea, fatal to liberty,
Kill’d with report that old man eloquent;—
    John Milton (1608–1674)
