Legacy

Streets in Yerevan, Moscow (ru:Улица Хачатуряна (Москва) ), Simferopol, Ukraine and Astana, Kazakhstan are named after Khachaturian.

House-Museum of Aram Khachaturian was opened in Yerevan in 1982.

In 1998, he was honored by appearing on Armenian paper money (50 dram).

In 2003 Armenian-American director Eric Bogosian narrated a 83-minute-long documentary about Khachaturian with unique footage. The film is available at SnagFilms: here

Aram Khachaturian International Competition is held annually in Yerevan since 2003.

Khachaturian's statue by Georgiy Frangulyan (ru) was opened in Moscow on October 31, 2006. Notable attendees included Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, Mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov and Russia's First Lady Lyudmila Putina.

In 2009, Aeroflot named one of its Airbus A319-112 plane after Khachaturian.
