Famous quotes containing the words appleton, east, high and/or school:

Good Americans, when they die, go to Paris.
    —Thomas Appleton (1812–1884)

The East is marvellously interesting for tracing our steps back. But for going forward, it is nothing. All it can hope for is to be fertilised by Europe, so that it can start on a new phase.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

    Like an unseasonable stormy day,
Which makes the silver rivers drown their shores,
As if the world were all dissolved to tears,
So high above his limits swells the rage
    Of Bolingbroke.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
