- Reeder" added to Code of Points - 14 February 1668
Following the 1999 World Championships, the FIG (Federation of International Gymnastics) added all the new elements into the Code of Points. Only a few gymnasts had their name added, but the uprise full turn or uprise 1½ turn was officially named the "Reeder." Reeder was the first British gymnast to achieve this honour. The skill has a difficulty value of "D," meaning that it is very difficult.
Though a commonly used skill, Reeder was the first gymnast in the world to perform this skill at the World Championships. Great Britain competed in the second qualifying round, with seven teams competing before them on the bars. Four of these countries ended up placing higher than Great Britain, yet none of the gymnasts performed the "Reeder."
Reeder was a participant on the London Weekend Television programme, "You Bet!", hosted by Bruce Forsyth, in 1989. Her team's challenge was to complete 150 somersaults over a vaulting-horse in 90 seconds. Reeder, and her team-mates completed 184 somersaults in the allotted time, saving the host from a forfeit.

Famous quotes containing the word trivia:
“Pop artists deal with the lowly trivia of possessions and equipment that the present generation is lugging along with it on its safari into the future.”
—J.G. (James Graham)
“The most refined skills of color printing, the intricate techniques of wide-angle photography, provide us pictures of trivia bigger and more real than life. We forget that we see trivia and notice only that the reproduction is so good. Man fulfils his dream and by photographic magic produces a precise image of the Grand Canyon. The result is not that he adores nature or beauty the more. Instead he adores his cameraand himself.”
—Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)
