Anne Marie Pohtamo (born 15 August 1955, Helsinki, Finland) was the second woman from Finland to capture the Miss Universe crown. She claimed the Miss Universe crown in 1975 at the pageant held in El Salvador.
Pohtamo was crowned by Miss Universe 1972 Kerry Anne Wells, not by her predecessor Amparo Muñoz, as Muñoz was dethroned shortly before her reign ended. She became the second Finn to claim the title of Miss Universe, 23 years after Armi Kuusela. Pohtamo later pursued a modeling and movie career, being credited either as Anne Pohtamo or as Anne Pohtamo-Hietanen. She married Arto Hietanen in 1980, and is a mother of four.
Famous quotes containing the words anne and/or marie:

—Jean Arnold, U.S. inventor. As quoted in Feminine Ingenuity, ch. 9, by Anne L. MacDonald (1992)
“They give us a pair of cloth shorts twice a year for all our clothing. When we work in the sugar mills and catch our finger in the millstone, they cut off our hand; when we try to run away, they cut off our leg: both things have happened to me. It is at this price that you eat sugar in Europe.”
