Early Ministry: Bible Study Fellowship
In 1975, Anne heard about Bible Study Fellowship, a Bible class for women that used a highly structured study method, and wanted a class to be offered in her hometown of Raleigh. She waited for a year for someone else to teach the class, but when no one else did, she decided to teach the class herself. The class immediately filled up with 500 people and had a waiting list. Anne continued to teach the weekly class for 12 years. During this time, she began to receive many speaking invitations and in 1988, Anne left BSF for an itinerant teaching ministry.

Famous quotes containing the words early, study and/or fellowship:
“We passed the Childrens Bureau bill calculated to prevent children from being employed too early in factories.”
—William Howard Taft (18571930)
“Men sometimes speak as if the study of the classics would at length make way for more modern and practical studies; but the adventurous student will always study classics, in whatever language they may be written and however ancient they may be. For what are the classics but the noblest recorded thoughts of man?... We might as well omit to study Nature because she is old.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Have no fellowship with one that is mightier and richer than thyself: for how agree the kettle and the earthen pot together? For if the one be smitten against the other, it shall be broken.”
—Apocrypha. Ecclesiasticus 13:2.
