Anne Brasseur

Anne Brasseur (born May 19, 1950) is a Luxembourgish politician.

Brasseur was born in the city of Luxembourg. She obtained a graduate degree in psychology in 1975 after studies at the universities in Tübingen and Mannheim. From 1975 to 1976 she was an SPOS (service de psychologie et d'orientation scolaire, a kind of educational psychologist) at the Esch-sur-Alzette Technical School and College for Boys. She has one child, a daughter.

She began her political career when she was elected to the city council of Luxembourg in 1976. She is a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She is president of the Association des Femmes Libérales. From 1999 to 2004 she was a cabinet minister of Luxembourg, Minister for National Education, Vocational Training and Sports (Ministre de l'Education nationale, de la Formation professionnelle et des Sports).

Since 2009, she has been president of the The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
