Anna Devane (formerly Scorpio, Lavery and Hayward) is a fictional character from the ABC soap operas General Hospital and All My Children. The character was originated by actress Finola Hughes on April 10, 1985. In 1991, Hughes was suddenly fired, and the role was then briefly portrayed by Camilla Moore from December 20, 1991 to January 20, 1992. The character "died" off-screen a month later. Hughes then returned to the role briefly in 1995, 2006, 2007 and 2008. From March 2, 2001 to September 11, 2003, the character appeared on All My Children.
It was confirmed in December 2011 that Hughes would return to General Hospital again to help usher her onscreen daughter, Robin Scorpio, off the canvas, and would as well be involved in her own storyline. Hughes returned in February 2012 on a recurring status, and then signed a contract in April to continue appearing on the series.
