Anjuman married an income tax commisioner, Mobin Malik, has two sons and one daughter, quit films, and moved to the United Kingdom. Some insiders disclosed that, Malik got fed up with her lifestyle; slowly but surely bickering and fighting became the tone of their marriage. During this time, Sultan Rahi was murdered on the National Highway. Lollywood was deprived of its most famous star, and the Punjabi film industry virtually grounded to a halt.

Relations between Anjuman and Malik always remained tense, though they managed to tolerate each other but after a long tense marriage, Anjuman decided to part ways in 2009 and returned to Lahore, Pakistan.

Famous quotes containing the word marriage:

Women hope men will change after marriage but they don’t; men hope women won’t change but they do.
    Bettina Arndt (20th century)

Worst, when this sensualism intrudes into the education of young women, and withers the hope and affection of human nature, by teaching that marriage signifies nothing but a housewife’s thrift, and that woman’s life has no other aim.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

With my desire to write he seemed in full sympathy, and in urging our early marriage he argued that my first necessity was leisure in which to develop and to master my craft. It appeared to me that with such a man as teacher and guide I could not fail, and it was in a queer mixture of young love and vaulting ambition that I became a wife.
    Rheta Childe Dorr (1866–1948)
