Anjo started venturing into politics in 1998 when he ran for councilor in Paranaque City and won. He had 3 successive terms as councilor before running for Vice Mayor in 2004 and also won. However, in 2007 he lost in his bid for reelection and also lost in 2010 when he tried to run again as councilor.
