Anholt Offshore Wind Farm
DONG Energy is building the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm in the Kattegat, between Djursland and Anholt island. It will have a nameplate capacity of 400 megawatts (MW), which will make it Denmark's largest wind park. When it is completed in 2013, it will provide energy to the island to replace much of the current diesel-powered electricity on the island. Fishermen will be compensated for the loss of fisheries. During construction, no fishing is allowed. When the wind farm is complete, net fishing will reoccur but trawling will not be allowed.
