Expenses Claims
Robertson's expenses claims included a television costing £1119, a £400 home cinema system, £500 for a bed, £20 for a corkscrew and £2324 for a sofa bed. The home cinema system was initially denied by the expenses office, however Robertson appealed this decision and it was subsequently awarded.

Famous quotes containing the words expenses and/or claims:
“Good government cannot be found on the bargain-counter. We have seen samples of bargain-counter government in the past when low tax rates were secured by increasing the bonded debt for current expenses or refusing to keep our institutions up to the standard in repairs, extensions, equipment, and accommodations. I refuse, and the Republican Party refuses, to endorse that method of sham and shoddy economy.”
—Calvin Coolidge (18721933)
“Whenever any skeptic or bigot claims to be heard on the question of intellect and morals, we ask if he is familiar with the books of Plato, where all his pert objections have once for all been disposed of. If not, he has no right to our time. Let him go and find himself answered there.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
