Anglesey Sea Zoo - History

History

The Anglesey Sea Zoo was opened in 1983 when the owners of a lobster wholesale business realized that their lobster tanks had become attractions in themselves.. In 2007 the attraction was sold to research ecologists who have since gone on to develop research and conservation projects based at the aquarium, as well as several community conservation initiatives.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

A poet’s object is not to tell what actually happened but what could or would happen either probably or inevitably.... For this reason poetry is something more scientific and serious than history, because poetry tends to give general truths while history gives particular facts.
    Aristotle (384–323 B.C.)

I cannot be much pleased without an appearance of truth; at least of possibility—I wish the history to be natural though the sentiments are refined; and the characters to be probable, though their behaviour is excelling.
    Frances Burney (1752–1840)

Social history might be defined negatively as the history of a people with the politics left out.
    —G.M. (George Macaulay)
