Personal Life
Motion's marriage to Joanna Powell ended in 1983. He was married to Jan Dalley from 1985 to 2009, divorcing after a seven year separation. They had one son born in 1986 and twins, a son and a daughter, born in 1988. He lives in Islington, North London.
