Anarchist Prisoners' Legal Aid Network

The Anarchist Prisoners' Legal Aid Network (APLAN) is an Anarchist organization that provides legal aid to known anarchist prisoners and publishes the newsletter We Never Sleep. According to APLAN, many imprisoned anarchists are subject to abuse, partly due to their beliefs.

Famous quotes containing the words anarchist, legal, aid and/or network:

The anarchist and the Christian have a common origin.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

Hawkins: The will is not exactly in proper legal phraseology. Richard: No: my father died without the consolations of the law.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

...women were fighting for limited freedom, the vote and more education. I wanted all the freedom, all the opportunity, all the equality there was in the world. I wanted to belong to the human race, not to a ladies’ aid society to the human race.
    Rheta Childe Dorr (1866–1948)

A culture may be conceived as a network of beliefs and purposes in which any string in the net pulls and is pulled by the others, thus perpetually changing the configuration of the whole. If the cultural element called morals takes on a new shape, we must ask what other strings have pulled it out of line. It cannot be one solitary string, nor even the strings nearby, for the network is three-dimensional at least.
    Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)
