An Innocent Man

An Innocent Man is the ninth album by American singer/songwriter Billy Joel, released in 1983 (see 1983 in music).

This album is Joel's tribute to the popular music from his teenage years. Throughout the album, he pays homage to a number of different popular American musical styles from the late 1950s and early 1960s, most notably doo-wop and soul music (see each track for specific homage).

Famous quotes containing the word innocent:

If a thousand men were not to pay their tax-bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay them, and enable the State to commit violence and shed innocent blood. This is, in fact, the definition of a peaceable revolution, if any such is possible.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
