This shoal, with a least depth of 14.6 m, is located immediately north of the Amirantes Bank, but separated from it by water more than 300 meters deep. It is 10 km northwest of North Island on African Banks, the northernmost island of the Amirante Islands. It is named after the cable steamer CS Lady Denison Pender that was built in Glasgow in 1920 and was in service until 1963.

Famous quotes containing the words lady and/or shoal:
“It is perfectly right for a gentleman to say ladies and gentlemen, but a lady should say, gentlemen and ladies. You mention your friends name before you do your own. I always feel like rebuking any woman who says, ladies and gentlemen. It is a lack of good manners.”
—Susan B. Anthony (18201906)
“If it were done when tis done, then twere well
It were done quickly. If th assassination
Could trammel up the consequence, and catch
With his surcease successthat but this blow
Might be the be-all and the end-all!here,
But here, upon this bank and shoal of time,
Wed jump the life to come.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
