AMF World Cup

The AMF World Cup, now a joint partnership between Qubica and AMF (now called the QubicaAMF World Cup), is an annual Ten-pin bowling championship, and one of the largest in terms of number of participating nations. Each nation chooses one male and one female bowler to represent them in the tournament, and in the majority of cases, this is done by running a qualifying tournament, the winners of which (male and female) are chosen.

Famous quotes containing the words world and/or cup:

While yet it is cold January, and snow and ice are thick and solid, the prudent landlord comes from the village to get ice to cool his summer drink; impressively, even pathetically, wise, to foresee the heat and thirst of July now in January,—wearing a thick coat and mittens! when so many things are not provided for. It may be that he lays up no treasures in this world which will cool his summer drink in the next.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Sunday morning may be cheery enough, with its extra cup of coffee and litter of Sunday newspapers, but there is always hanging over it the ominous threat of 3 P.M., when the sun gets around to the back windows and life stops dead in its tracks.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)
