AMC Eagle - Collectibility

Collectibility

As used cars, the AMC Eagles were "not intended for heavy-duty boulder bashing" and established a reputation as unique 4-wheel-drive passenger cars "with proven AMC bodyshells and running gear". AMC Eagles are collected for purposes of nostalgia, status, pleasure, investment as well as function.

The Eagle shares many parts and components with other Jeep and AMC models. There are many active AMC car clubs and specialized vendors for service and reproduction parts. While surviving Eagles are no longer depreciating, they do not seem to be appreciating rapidly – except for the 1980-84 Sundancer convertible.

In some regions, including the Pacific Northwest United States, Canada, and Alaska, AMC Eagles are still abundant and in service and available for sale after over 20 years since production ceased.
