Alternative Versions of Mister Fantastic - Council of Reeds

Council of Reeds

The Council of Reeds consists of at least four alternate versions of Reed Richards, with different powers, intellects, and abilities, who have banded together across realities. Although the 616 Reed made contact with them, he withdrew from the Council when he learned that they were versions of himself that might have been without the influence of his family; according to Reed, they have all lobotomised their Victor von Dooms. Due to an accident caused by Valeria Richards, they have gained access to the 616 reality, forcing Reed to assemble a team of his old enemies - including Doctor Doom, the Wizard, and the Mad Thinker - to try to outthink himselves before they destroy this world.

Famous quotes containing the words council of, council and/or reeds:

There by some wrinkled stones round a leafless tree
With beards askew, their eyes dull and wild
Twelve ragged men, the council of charity
Wandering the face of the earth a fatherless child....
    Allen Tate (1899–1979)

Daughter to that good Earl, once President
Of England’s Council and her Treasury,
Who lived in both, unstain’d with gold or fee,
And left them both, more in himself content.

Till the sad breaking of that Parliament
Broke him, as that dishonest victory
    At Chaeronea, fatal to liberty,
Kill’d with report that old man eloquent;—
    John Milton (1608–1674)

Myself now and myself a while ago are indeed two; but when better, I simply cannot say. It would be fine to be old if we traveled only toward improvement. It is a drunkard’s motion, staggering, dizzy, wobbling, or that of reeds that the wind stirs haphazardly as it pleases.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)
