Alt St. Johann - History

History

Alt St. Johann is first mentioned in 1152 as sancti Johannis Baptiste. In French it used to be known as Saint-Jean-le-Vieux, but since 1626 it has been Alt St. Johann.

The municipalities of Alt St. Johann and Wildhaus merged into the municipality of Wildhaus-Alt St. Johann on 1 January 2010.
