Alireza Soleimani Karbalaei (Persian: علیرضا سلیمانی کربلایی, born 2 February 1956 in Tehran) is a famous Iranian super heavyweight freestyle wrestler born in Tehran. He is the first and still the only Iranian who won the gold medal in super heavyweight class at the World Championship 1989 against Bruce Baumgartner. He was the flag bearer of the Iranian Olympic Team at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games
