Ghostley received a Tony nomination in the late 1960's for different roles she played in the Broadway comedy The Beauty Part. She also received a Tony award for Best Featured Actress for her role in The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window.
In 1992, Ghostley earned an Emmy nomination for her role in Designing Women.
