Zaynab bint Ali, Husayn ibn Ali's younger sister, raised Ali Al-Akbar. His other two brothers were also named Ali: Ali al-Asghar ibn Husayn and Zayn al-Abidin. Abbas ibn Ali, Ali Akbar's uncle taught him fencing and archery. He so much resembled Muhammad that Husayn ibn Ali often said, "whenever I remember my maternal grandfather I look at Akbar." Famous quotes containing the word life:
“Personal change, growth, development, identity formationthese tasks that once were thought to belong to childhood and adolescence alone now are recognized as part of adult life as well. Gone is the belief that adulthood is, or ought to be, a time of internal peace and comfort, that growing pains belong only to the young; gone the belief that these are marker eventsa job, a mate, a childthrough which we will pass into a life of relative ease.”
—Lillian Breslow Rubin (20th century)
“I can no more think of my own life without thinking of wine and wines and where they grew for me and why I drank them when I did and why I picked the grapes and where I opened the oldest procurable bottles, and all that, than I can remember living before I breathed.”
—M.F.K. Fisher (19081992)
“Death does determine life.... Once life is finished it acquires a sense; up to that point it has not got a sense; its sense is suspended and therefore ambiguous. However, to be sincere I must add that for me death is important only if it is not justified and rationalized by reason. For me death is the maximum of epicness and death.”
—Pier Paolo Pasolini (19221975)
