Life
Zaynab bint Ali, Husayn ibn Ali's younger sister, raised Ali Al-Akbar. His other two brothers were also named Ali: Ali al-Asghar ibn Husayn and Zayn al-Abidin. Abbas ibn Ali, Ali Akbar's uncle taught him fencing and archery. He so much resembled Muhammad that Husayn ibn Ali often said, "whenever I remember my maternal grandfather I look at Akbar." Ali Akbar was killed by Murrah ibn Munqad in the Battle of Karbala.

Famous quotes containing the word life:
“I could lie down like a tired child,
And weep away the life of care
Which I have borne and yet must bear,
Till death like sleep might steal on me,”
—Percy Bysshe Shelley (17921822)
“The East is the hearthside of America. Like any home, therefore, it has the defects of its virtues. Because it is a long-lived-in house, it bursts its seams, is inconvenient, needs constant refurbishing. And some of the family resources have been spent. To attain the privacy that grown-up people find so desirable, Easterners live a harder life than people elsewhere. Today it is we and not the frontiersman who must be rugged to survive.”
—Phyllis McGinley (19051978)
“We are conscious of an animal in us, which awakens in proportion as our higher nature slumbers. It is reptile and sensual, and perhaps cannot be wholly expelled; like the worms which, even in life and health, occupy our bodies. Possibly we may withdraw from it, but never change its nature. I fear that it may enjoy a certain health of its own; that we may be well, yet not pure.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
