Alexandria International Airport (Egypt) - Future Operations

Future Operations

The future of the airport was in doubt with the opening of Borg El Arab Airport, however in early 2011 the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation announced major plans to overhaul the airport and its facilities to ensure its future as one of the two commercial airports for Alexandria and Nile Delta region.

The renovation project is expected to cost US$120 million which will include lengthening the main runway (04/22) by an additional 750m and the construction of a new passenger terminal to replace the existing ageing facility.

The airport is closed down by December 2011 for two years to implement the expansion project and development.

Famous quotes containing the words future and/or operations:

Our system of government, in spite of Vietnam, Cambodia, CIA, Watergate, is still the best system of government on earth. And the greatest resource of all are the 215 million Americans who still have within us the strength, the character, the intelligence, the experience, the patriotism, the idealism, the compassion, the sense of brotherhood on which we can rely in the future to restore the greatness to our country.
Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.)

You can’t have operations without screams. Pain and the knife—they’re inseparable.
