Having finished High School, Trevino did not attend college and peruse wrestling because of problems with his adhd. Trevino had troubles with the law and was later incarcerated for trafficking marijuana and pleaded guiltily and received two years of probation. Trevino took his skills and signed up for the "School of the Hardknocks" reality TV show which featured impoverished young men looking to become fighters.
