Early Life, Education and Career
Darling was born in Hammond, Indiana. She graduated from Richwood High School in Illinois, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1966. She did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee from 1972 to 1974. Darling is married to Dr. William Darling and has two children and two grandchildren.
Before she was elected to political office, Darling was a teacher and marketing director.
