Famous quotes containing the word drinks:
“He hardly drinks a pint of wine,
And that, I doubt, is no good sign.
His stomach too begins to fail:
Last year we thought him strong and hale,
But now, hes quite another thing;
I wish he may hold out till spring.
Then hug themselves, and reason thus;
It is not yet so bad with us.”
—Jonathan Swift (16671745)
“O God, and the wedding! All her family and her friends
and only a handful of mine all scroungy and bearded
just wait to get at the drinks and food”
—Gregory Corso (b. 1930)
“This fellow mixes his metaphors the way a toper does his drinks and, I daresay, gets just as tipsy on them.”
—Angela Carter (19401992)
