Alan Best (sculptor)

Alan Best (1910–2001) was a Canadian sculptor and natural historian. He trained at the Académie Julian in Paris, designed for Josiah Wedgwood & Sons and was assistant to British sculptor Eric Kennington. He was assistant zoo curator under Julian Huxley at Regent's Park Zoo, London and curator of Stanley Park Zoo, Vancouver. He is the uncle of Canadian filmmaker Alan Best.
