Air Force Wear
All of the military services can and have sent personnel to Air Assault School. Other than the Army, however, only the Air Force allows for the wear of the Air Assault Badge on uniforms, and only on the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU), which was retired from wear effective 1 November 2011. The latest edition of AFI 36-2903 states, "Authorized permanent wear of black US Army Air Assault badge on the BDUs only, regardless of duty assignment. Air Force members are authorized to wear badge upon graduation from Air Assault school." Even though companies such as Vanguard have produced ABU-embroidered Air Assault Badges that are available on-line and through AAFES Military Clothing Sales Stores, AFI 36-2903 states the "badge is not authorized for wear on the ABU," and "Upon Permanent Change of Station (PCS) to an Air Force unit, wear of Army Air Assault badge is optional."

Famous quotes containing the words air, force and/or wear:
“What I call middle-class society is any society that becomes rigidified in predetermined forms, forbidding all evolution, all gains, all progress, all discovery. I call middle-class a closed society in which life has no taste, in which the air is tainted, in which ideas and men are corrupt. And I think that a man who takes a stand against this death is in a sense a revolutionary.”
—Frantz Fanon (19251961)
“Rhyme and meter force gaps in meaning so the muse can enter.”
—Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
“I have nothing to wear tomorrow
will I live long enough
to grow up
and mommas in the bedroom
with the door closed.”
—Audre Lorde (b. 1934)
