Aida Mohamed

Aida Mohamed (born 12 March 1976 in Budapest) is a Hungarian foil fencer of Arabic (Syrian) descent. She has competed at five Olympic Games from 1996 to 2012.

Mohamed won the bronze medal at the foil 2006 World Fencing Championships after she lost 15-3 to Valentina Vezzali in the semi final.

Aida trained for 23 years at the MTK sports club in Budapest, with fencing master Antal Solti. She changed clubs in 2009 and now she fences for Törekvés SE, but she still prepares with her old trainer. Aida is married to former Canadian Olympic pentathlete and épée fencer, Laurie Shong.

They have a daughter, Olívia, born in 2009.
