History
In 1965, membership in the Corps of Cadets became voluntary for students at Texas A&M. The leadership of the Corps had always taken the lead in directing the construction of Bonfire, but they held no authority over the "non-regs", or civilian students. Famous quotes containing the word history:
“What has history to do with me? Mine is the first and only world! I want to report how I find the world. What others have told me about the world is a very small and incidental part of my experience. I have to judge the world, to measure things.”
—Ludwig Wittgenstein (18891951)
“It takes a great deal of history to produce a little literature.”
—Henry James (18431916)
“I believe my ardour for invention springs from his loins. I cant say that the brassiere will ever take as great a place in history as the steamboat, but I did invent it.”
—Caresse Crosby (18921970)
