  • African Americans – There are an estimated 40 million people of Black African descent in the US.
  • Afro-Latin American – There are an estimated 100 million people of African descent living in Latin America, making up 45% of Brazil's population, if the one drop rule is applied, and the pred. European ancestry, and the Native American ancestry, which are present in most pardos, is not considered (Brazilian "blacks" are also mixed to a significant degree). There are also sizeable African populations in Cuba, Haiti, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
