AFC Wimbledon Ladies switched affiliation from Wimbledon F.C. after the 2002–03 season.

Tony Milstead is the current manager and the team currently competes in the London and South East Regional Women's Football League.

Wimbledon Ladies’ former player Sophie Hosking won an Olympic gold medal for Team GB in the women’s lightweight double sculls at the London 2012 games. Hosking continues to be an avid supporter of AFC Wimbledon and demonstrated as such when she painted her fingernails in the club’s royal blue and yellow colours for the final at Eton Dorney on 4 August 2012.

Famous quotes containing the word ladies:

That the townspeople might better see him, the President was persuaded to leave his carriage by the inducement that the ladies wished to get a look at him. ‘By Gad,’ he repied, ‘I’d like to see your ladies,’ and alighted.
—For the State of New Hampshire, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

The ladies here probably exchanged looks which meant, “Men never know when things are dirty or not;” and the gentlemen perhaps thought each to himself, “Women will have their little nonsense and needless cares.”
    Jane Austen (1775–1817)

I went to a literary gathering once.... The place was filled with people who looked as if they had been scraped up out of drains. The ladies ran to draped plush dresses—for Art; to wreaths of silken flowerets in the hair—for Femininity; and, somewhere between the two adornments, to chain-drive pince-nez—for Astigmatism. The gentlemen were small and somewhat in need of dusting.
    Dorothy Parker (1893–1967)
