Adrienne Lau (Chinese: 劉晨芝; Birth name: Wing Nga Lau) is a singer, actress born on September 7. She is the first Chinese American female artist to have two singles in the US Pop Billboard Single Sales charts in the top 20. In early 2007, her single “Magic Tricks” hit number 7 on the US Pop Billboard Single sales charts. In late 2006, her single “Wanna be Happy” debuted at #14 on the US Pop Billboard single sales charts as well. Newpspapers and Magazines dubbed her the Asian Britney Spears or Beyoncé. She speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She graduated from UCLA with double major degrees in Communications and Sociology. Adrienne also did an advertising campaign and was the spokesmodel for Vigoss Jeans in China. There were billboards promoting Lau's music put out by her former record label, MIG Records, on the Sunset Strips in Los Angeles; the billboard advertisement was funded by money from an illegal ponzi scheme associated with MIG Records.
