Abraham Whistler

Abraham Whistler is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe. He is a vampire hunter and mentor to Blade. Screenwriter David S. Goyer created him for the 1998 film Blade (played by Kris Kristofferson), but he first appeared on screen in Spider-Man: The Animated Series, and was voiced by Malcolm McDowell and later by Oliver Muirhead. In 2006, he appeared in the television show Blade: The Series. Although he is inspired partially by the character Jamal Afari from the comics, sharing certain traits, Whistler has yet to make a transition to the comics.

Famous quotes containing the words abraham and/or whistler:

When Abraham Lincoln penned the immortal emancipation proclamation he did not stop to inquire whether every man and every woman in Southern slavery did or did not want to be free. Whether women do or do not wish to vote does not affect the question of their right to do so.
Mary E. Haggart, U.S. suffragist. As quoted in History of Woman Suffrage, vol. 4, ch. 3, by Susan B. Anthony and Ida Husted Harper (1902)

Mr. Whistler always spelt art, and we believe still spells it, with a capital “I.”
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)
