Critics so far have favorably compared the art direction of A Witch's Tale to that of Tim Burton movies but found the entirely stylus-based gameplay and combat simplistic and repetitive. Overall, the game has received generally mediocre reviews, currently holding a 50 out of 100 metascore at metacritic.com.
