A Hard Day's Night (film) - Songs

Songs

The film's credits state that all songs are composed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. However, a portion of "Don't Bother Me" is heard in the film; this song is, in fact, a George Harrison composition, and is identified as such on all album appearances.

  • "A Hard Day's Night"
  • "I Should Have Known Better"
  • "I Wanna Be Your Man" (sample)
  • "Don't Bother Me" (Harrison) (sample)
  • "All My Loving" (sample)
  • "If I Fell"
  • "Can't Buy Me Love"
  • "And I Love Her"
  • "I'm Happy Just to Dance with You"
  • "Tell Me Why"
  • "She Loves You"
  • In addition to the soundtrack album, an EP (in mono) of songs from the film titled Extracts From The Film A Hard Day's Night was released by Parlophone (GEP 8920) on 6 November 1964, having the following tracks:
    • Side A
  1. "I Should Have Known Better"
  2. "If I Fell"
    • Side B
  1. "Tell Me Why"
  2. "And I Love Her"

Famous quotes containing the word songs:

    And our sov’reign sole Creator
    Lives eternal in the sky,
    While we mortals yield to nature,
    Bloom awhile, then fade and die.
    —Unknown. “Hail ye sighing sons of sorrow,” l. 13-16, Social and Campmeeting Songs (1828)

    On a cloud I saw a child,
    And he laughing said to me,

    “Pipe a song about a Lamb”;
    So I piped with merry chear.
    “Piper pipe that song again”—
    So I piped, he wept to hear.

    “Drop thy pipe thy happy pipe
    Sing thy songs of happy chear”;
    So I sung the same again
    While he wept with joy to hear.
    William Blake (1757–1827)

    Dylan is to me the perfect symbol of the anti-artist in our society. He is against everything—the last resort of someone who doesn’t really want to change the world.... Dylan’s songs accept the world as it is.
