Music TV channel 9XM launched in 2007, targeting the 15 to 24 age group and playing only Hindi film songs.
On 31 August 2011, the broadcaster launched 9X Tashan, a Punjabi music channel. This was followed by Marathi music channel 9X Jhakaas on 31 October 2011. A fourth music channel, 9X Jalwa, launched on 25 February 2012 featuring classic Bollywood music. 9XO, a channel dedicated to international music genres, launched in April 2012. The channel is headed by Luke Kenny.
