History
(Note: This unit has a separate lineage than the 75th Ranger Infantry Regiment (Airborne).) The 75th Infantry was part of the "square" 13th Division's complement of four regiments including the 1st, 44th, 75th, and 76th Infantry Regiments. It was never sent overseas during WWI and was disbanded after the war.

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“It takes a great deal of history to produce a little literature.”
—Henry James (18431916)
“No one can understand Paris and its history who does not understand that its fierceness is the balance and justification of its frivolity. It is called a city of pleasure; but it may also very specially be called a city of pain. The crown of roses is also a crown of thorns. Its people are too prone to hurt others, but quite ready also to hurt themselves. They are martyrs for religion, they are martyrs for irreligion; they are even martyrs for immorality.”
—Gilbert Keith Chesterton (18741936)
