21550 Laviolette

21550 Laviolette (1998 QS44) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on August 17, 1998 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research Team at Socorro.

The asteroid was named in 2006 after a 2006 award honoree, Jessica Lynn Laviolette (b. 1987), who was awarded first place in the 2006 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair for her engineering project. She was attending the Brandon High School, Ortonville, Michigan, U.S.A.
