Positive Dope Tests
On 4th November 2011 the IAAF reported that 2 of the 468 urine samples had produced adverse analytical findings. The samples of Portuguese runner Sara Moreira, a finalist in the women's steeplechase, and Korean relay runner Hee-Nam Lim had both tested positive for methylhexaneamine. Analysis of blood samples is still ongoing.
In March 2012 the Trinidad and Tobago track and field authorities announced that Semoy Hackett had tested positive for methylhexaneamine at the Trinidad and Tobago national championships prior to the World Championships. Famous quotes containing the words positive, dope and/or tests:
“I am positive I have a soul; nor can all the books with which materialists have pesterd the world ever convince me of the contrary.”
—Laurence Sterne (17131768)
“If you think dope is for kicks and for thrills, youre out of your mind. There are more kicks to be had in a good case of paralytic polio or by living in an iron lung. If you think you need stuff to play music or sing, youre crazy. It can fix you so you cant play nothing or sing nothing.”
—Billie Holiday (19151959)
“Although she feeds me bread of bitterness,
And sinks into my throat her tigers tooth,
Stealing my breath of life, I will confess
I love this cultured hell that tests my youth!”
—Claude McKay (18891948)
