2008 Los Roques Archipelago Transaven Let L-410 Crash
On 4 January 2008, a scheduled domestic Transaven flight from Simón Bolívar International Airport serving Caracas to Los Roques Airport off shore in the Atlantic Ocean reported 64 miles north of the port of departure that both engines had failed and that it was at altitude 3000 feet and descending. The pilot was to attempt ditching as close as possible to the Los Roques archipelago. At last there was never again any radio contact and the plane disappeared from radar.
