Famous quotes containing the words track, cycling and/or world:
“What joy when the insouciant
armadillo glances at us and doesnt
quicken his trotting
across the track into the palm brush.
What is this joy? That no animal
falters, but knows what it must do?”
—Denise Levertov (b. 1923)
“I shall not bring an automobile with me. These inventions infest France almost as much as Bloomer cycling costumes, but they make a horrid racket, and are particularly objectionable. So are the Bloomers. Nothing more abominable has ever been invented. Perhaps the automobile tricycles may succeed better, but I abjure all these works of the devil.”
—Henry Brooks Adams (18381918)
“Then how can it be said I am alone
When all the world is here to look on me?”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
