The 2007 North Queensland Cowboys season was the 13th in the club's history. Coached by Graham Murray and captained by Johnathan Thurston, they competed in the National Rugby League's 2007 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season in 3rd (out of 16) place. The Cowboys were the most successful of the three Queensland-based NRL clubs and drew strong crowds during the season, winning 11 of their 14 matches at Dairy Farmers stadium. Matt Bowen was named the club's player of the year, and was also the premiership's leading try-scorer.
Also during the season News Limited sold the football club to the Cowboys Leagues Club, ending a six-year period of ownership during which it helped the club through a difficult time.

Famous quotes containing the words north, cowboys and/or season:
“The compulsion to do good is an innate American trait. Only North Americans seem to believe that they always should, may, and actually can choose somebody with whom to share their blessings. Ultimately this attitude leads to bombing people into the acceptance of gifts.”
—Ivan Illich (b. 1926)
“What do you think spies are: priests, saints and martyrs? Theyre a squalid procession of vain fools, traitors too, yes; pansies, sadists and drunkards, people who play cowboys and Indians to brighten their rotten lives.”
—John le Carré (b. 1931)
“The instincts of merry England lingered on here with exceptional vitality, and the symbolic customs which tradition has attached to each season of the year were yet a reality on Egdon. Indeed, the impulses of all such outlandish hamlets are pagan still: in these spots homage to nature, self-adoration, frantic gaieties, fragments of Teutonic rites to divinities whose names are forgotten, seem in some way or other to have survived mediaeval doctrine.”
—Thomas Hardy (18401928)
