Famous quotes containing the words strongest man, world, strongest and/or man:
“Science seems to me to teach in the highest and strongest manner the great truth which is embodied in the
Christian conception of entire surrender to the will of God. Sit down before fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconceived notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abysses nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.”
—Thomas Henry Huxley (182595)
“I hold the world but as the world, Gratiano,
A stage, where every man must play a part,
And mine a sad one.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“Time has the same effect on the mind as on the face; the predominant passion and the strongest feature become more conspicuous from the others retiring.”
—Mary Wortley, Lady Montagu (16891762)
“The manuscript lay like a dust-rag on his desk, and Eitel found, as he had found before, that the difficulty of art was that it forced a man back on his life, and each time the task was more difficult and distasteful.”
—Norman Mailer (b. 1923)
