2003 Solheim Cup
The 8th Solheim Cup Match was held between 12 September and 14 September 2003 at Barsebäck Golf & Country Club, Loddekopinge, Skåne, Sweden, the first time the contest had been held outside the US or UK. When Rosie Jones conceded a birdie putt to Catriona Matthew giving her a 3&1 win, Europe got the 14½ points they required to win the Solheim Cup for the third time. With the match over as a contest, amid some controversy, four of the five remaining matches were conceded. This made the final score 17½ to 10½.

“The cup of Morgan Fay is shattered.
Life is a bitter sage,
And we are weary infants
In a palsied age.”
