2000 Carolina Panthers Season

The 2000 Carolina Panthers season was the sixth season for the team in the National Football League. They tried to improve upon their 8–8 record in 1999, and make it to the playoffs for the second time in franchise history.

The Panthers would digress from 1999, falling from 8–8 to 7–9, however, the Panthers finished third in the division, behind the playoff-bound St. Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints.

Famous quotes containing the words carolina and/or season:

The great problem of American life [is] the riddle of authority: the difficulty of finding a way, within a liberal and individualistic social order, of living in harmonious and consecrated submission to something larger than oneself.... A yearning for self-transcendence and submission to authority [is] as deeply rooted as the lure of individual liberation.
Wilfred M. McClay, educator, author. The Masterless: Self and Society in Modern America, p. 4, University of North Carolina Press (1994)

Business by no means forbids pleasures; on the contrary, they reciprocally season each other; and I will venture to affirm that no man enjoys either in perfection that does not join both.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)
