It entered the chart in France at number 1, with 123,600 total of sales in its first week, marking Dion's eleventh number 1 and her seventh to début at the top there. It remained at number 1 for four non-consecutive weeks and sixty weeks on the charts, and was certified 2x platinum becoming fifth best-selling album of 2003.
In Canada, the album entered at number 1 with 44,500 copies sold in its first week and remained at the top for two weeks, being Dion's ninth number 1 in her native country. 1 fille & 4 types reached also number 1 in Belgium Wallonia for two weeks, and was certified platinum. The album achieved also platinum status in Switzerland (number 2 on the chart) and gold in Finland (number 9 on the chart). 1 fille & 4 types charted in many other non-Francophone countries as well, reaching top 10 in Greece, Poland, and Belgium Flanderes. On the European Top 100 Albums it peaked at number 9.
