Storm Names
The following names were used for named storms in the Pacific in 1999. Names that were not used are marked in gray. This is the same list used in the 1993 season. No new names were used for the first time in the Pacific Basin. No storms were retired during the season, thus this same list was used again in the 2005 season.

For the central Pacific Ocean, four consecutive lists are used, with the names used sequentially until exhausted, rather than until the end of the year, due to the low number of storms each year. No storm names were used during the course of the year; however, the first name would have been Upana.
